*The whole department at GCPD headquarters stands around the TV set, now turned to static. All at once talking and yelling fills the entire floor.*
Commissioner Gordon: "Quiet down.....QUIET DOWN! What in the blazes have gotten into you people! We can't solve this problem with all of you going crazy! Now where the heck is Batman! Turn on the signal!"
*Bullock pipes up* "Commish? It's 10 o'clock in the morning! I highly doubt the signal will show up! And besides, who's seen the Bat during the day? What is this some loada..."
Commissioner Gordon: "Bullock, shut up! I can't handle your sarcasm today! I don't care what you have to do short of hold up the firts national bank, get em in here!"

The grounds of stately Wayne Manor lie in the hills just past Gotham River to the north of Gotham City. The quiet of the morning as been brought to a halt as the television slowly switches back to normal programming. Alfred comes from the kitchen into the dining area at a brisk pace. He dropped the tray with dishes from the morning’s breakfast that he was carrying when Ra’s broke the news. Bruce Wayne has moved from the table to the large window that looks to the south. Past the manicured lawn and foliage, past the rolling hills, past the river and deep into the heart of downtown Gotham just over 10 miles away. He can see it hovering, a small speck over the city on the horizon.
Alfred Pennyworth: * Bends down and starts to clean up the mess * “He wouldn’t drop that bomb would he Master Bruce?”
Bruce Wayne: “There’s no telling what he might do”
The telephone rings, Alfred goes to get it.
Alfred Pennyworth: “It’s Barbara sir, she says they can’t shine the Bat Signal at night and wonder how to call you?”
Bruce Wayne: “I know when I’m needed and I know where to go”
* Turns from window to look at Alfred * “Tell her I need to know how to defuse that bomb”
* I turn away the window and walk towards a Grandfather Clock * “Tell her I’m late for work, we’ll talk later”
* I turn the hands on the clock to a time I will not forget and it opens. I descend the stairs to the Batcave *
