[Continued from Gotham Streets]
The tension at GCPD Headquarters has't died down since the broadcast, the offices are filled with patrolmen trying to do anything they can to help. All of a sudden the doors to the main offices fly open as Mayor Hill storms into the room.
Hill: "What the hell is going on in here! Gordon, what have you been doing! Time is running out Commissioner!"
Gordon turns from his desk and looks face-to-face to Hill
Gordon: "Hamilton, I've got things under control, do you hear me? Everything that's being done is being done! Unless you want to resign from office, go to training, and wait 15 years to become police commissioner, I don't think there's a d**n thing you can do about the situation! You're the one who holds policy in this town, YOU'RE the one who makes terrorist negotiations AGAINST policy! What the hell do you expect me to do!"
The entire room becomes silent as the employees stare at the two men.
Hill: "Well Jim, to be honest, their hasn't been too many times that a nuclear bomb has been held at ransom over the downtown!"
Gordon: "Oh I see how it is Mayor. Now that YOUR life is held in jeapordy, you think it's fine to change policy. Fine by me! You heard the man people, take 1 billion dollars about of Hamilton Hill's bank account! No wait, you know what? Heck with it, let's just blow the helicopter up! Would you like that, Hamilton?"
Hill: "I've had enough Commissioner! When this is done with, you can come talk to me about continuing your work here with GCPD! Do you hear me? This mess is now on YOUR hands Jim!"
Hill storms out of the room, the room remains silent.
Gordon: "Get back to work, and where's Batman?"
*A patrolman speaks up* "Uh, co...co...Commissioner, numerous sightings of Batman on top of Wayne Enterprises!"
Gordon: "That's good, now broadcast on the scanners that NO one makes a move without my approval!"
Gordon strolls into his own office and closes the door, he's alone. "For once, all of my faith is on you Batman. Make your city proud. We're yours."
