Welcome to BYTB's Gotham RPG
This is a Gotham RPG Board, filled with characters from Batman.
RPG stands for Role Playing Game. In an RPG you can play as any character (either real or custom) and you act as that character in the first person.
Rather than post discussions like you would at most other Online Forums the Threads and Posts on this type of Board tell a Story. The Threads are places in and around Gotham City and the Posts in those Threads are where the Story takes place. Everybody has a Character and their Posts are the words and actions of that character they are playing. The Story evolves with each new post. You can create plots, Characters, villains, fights, supporting Characters, etc.
Now while you can create almost anything you want there are limitations:
Gotham RPG Board Rules
1). No Bad Or Foul Language. This Board Is Open To ALL Ages. Please Keep Slang To A Minimum. There ARE Filters To Change Certain Words, Please Don’t Test It In Your Posts.
2). No 1 or 2 Word Posts Or Just Smilies. This Is A Story Based Board.
3). Before You Even Look At Posting In The RPG Sections You MUST Either Create A Character Profile Or Use One Already Provided.
4). NO CUSTOM CHARACTERS Are Accepted At This Time. The Character MUST HAVE Appeared In A Batman Comic Book, TV Show, Or Movie To Play Here.
5). Characters CANNOT BE ALL POWERFUL. They Cannot Have Too Many Powers Or 'World Dominating' Powers So They Can't Be Beaten.
6). Members Are Allowed To Play More Than One (1) Character BUT A Character Profile MUST BE Posted For Each One.
7). Each Thread Is It’s Own RPG With A Unique Title. The Posts Of The Storyline Will Move From Place To Place, Using Part 1, Part 2 Etc… But It Will Stay The Same Story Until Somebody Ends It.
8). There Can Be MORE THAN ONE RPG Going At Anyone Time As They Each Have Their Own Title.
9). ANY Member Can Be ANY Character In ANY RPG So Long As That Character Is NOT ALREADY Taken By Somebody In That Story. New Posters Will Need To Check The Story’s Thread From The Beginning To Be Sure.
10). You Can Have A Character Date Or Married To Another But Again You MUST Talk (via PM) To The Member And Discuss This First. If They Do Not Want To Date Or Marry Your Character, Then Find Someone Else.
11). You Cannot Speak For, Or Move Another Players Character Without Their Permission.
12). Please Use Quotation Marks " " When Your Character Is Speaking.
13). Please Use Italic Font When Your Character Is Thinking Or Psychic Talk. Turn On Italics Using Standard HTML Codes. Place An “i” In Between “[ ]” To Turn On And “/i” In “[ ]” To Turn Off, Or Use Tool Bar In Post Window.
14). Please Use Asterisks * * At The Beginning And End Of A Line When Your Character Is Doing An Action.
15). While Interacting Or Fighting With Other Characters In Threads, You Need To Give The Other Person A Chance To Make A Move. Keep In Mind The Character You Are Interacting With May Be Offline. Treat It Like A Chess Game, Make Your Move (Post) And Wait.
16). No More Than TWO (2) Posts Back To Back, Give Others A Chance To Respond.
17). No Killing Off Characters Unless You Get Permission (via PM) From The Character You Want To Kill. ONLY EXCEPTION: Minor Thugs That Have No Character Profiles Are Expendable.
